CP WOMAN’S OPEN, OTTAWA

Bittany(L) and Brooke Henderson sticking around for weekend action.

On the second day of the CP Women’s Open the course was ready to be played. Conditions were good. The skies were blue, the winds were low and the greens were firm.

Brooke Henderson had a slow start, faltered to plus 4 but recovered to end at plus 1, the cut line. The crowds following her were lined up from the tee box to the green and she was greeted with loud applause on each tee box, each fairway and every green.

The leader, In Gee Chun, is at minus 8. There is a big deficit for Brooke to overcome but small steps lead to a final destination. The Open is shaping up to entertain the masses on Sunday afternoon as half the field goes home today.

Michelle Wie is tied for 16th at the end of Fridays action.

LPGA money-leader, So Yeon Ryu sits tied for 5th at -5.

Cheyenne Woods, niece of famous PGA golfer, Tiger Woods.
